a poppy :)

All artists show poppies.

I'm no artist but I had some fun drawing a poppy myself :))

I tried to make it like a real watercolour picture, but it didn't work and I was almost ready to tear it apart. But then I outlined it with my black ink brush and now I do like it after all :D The butterfly was not my intention, I was daydreaming in between painting and the brush dropped some colour onto this card ;)

Some days ago there was a party on the beach, hosted by Nivea and the DLRG (German Life Saving Association).

It was made for kids and parents to get to know all the risks of beach life. Nivea took care of the sun protection part and the DLRG had some stations there for kids to learn how to rescue people from water and more interesting stuff like that. I just couldn't take any more pictures of the other stations. I have a severe case of claustrophobia and those places were crowded, I wasn't able to go through there. So I only took pictures from the water side, there was at least some room left for me :) The beach was crowded! It sure is holiday time! I've never been there during the day, only close to sunset, and by then most of the people are gone.

How can they take it?!

But the big crowd was only in the first stretch around the fun stuff and a bit further up (guess they needed to stay closer to the one and only rest room close to the beach :)) A bit further up it was much nicer. But since that was a real hot day I was worn out by then and just headed back through the crowd to get off that beach. What a relief when I entered the harbour! Those pictures I'll show you next time :) And below picture I took to show you the gimmick I have on my camera. It has a menu for artistic pictures and one of them is filtering out colours. On this one I chose blue to stay and all other colours were turned into black and white. I love it! :))
